The Kita Family was the pinnacle family of Tomurayaku* who supported the wealth of former Kaga Province and Kita Family’s grand residential house was created on the directions by the ruler of Kaga Province, to make a house in accordance with the high standing of Kita Family. The home is preserved because it was approximately three hundred years ago. As you bear the front gate with an imposing thatched roof and see the most building, you’ll get a thought regarding the wealth of Kita Family’s fortune, that was said to be as massive as two,300 koku. The house has preserved the everyday options of a Tomura residence.
* Tomurayaku, native magistrate, would be wealthy farming family of the region that may have ten villages underneath its jurisdiction.
